KodamaTerms of Use
These terms apply when you use the Kodama app. By using Kodama you agree to them.
1. What Kodama is
Kodama helps you practise English by shadowing and gives feedback on your pronunciation. Scores come from a model running on your phone and are a guide, not a guarantee of accuracy. Kodama does not promise any test score or level of English.
2. Your data
Your texts and pronunciation record are stored on your phone (see the Privacy Policy). You're responsible for your own backups; we can't recover data lost from your device. Only add texts you have the right to use.
3. Acceptable use
Use Kodama for lawful, personal purposes. Don't reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except where the law allows it.
4. Kodama Plus subscriptions
- Kodama Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Prices and what Plus includes are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account (App Store) or Google account (Google Play) when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, you'll be charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel at any time: on iPhone in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Android in the Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
5. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop parts of Kodama. We'll mention significant changes in the release notes.
6. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, Kodama is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Downloading the voice and scoring model needs an internet connection and may use mobile data.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Kodama. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.
8. App stores
If you downloaded Kodama from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support.
If you downloaded Kodama from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
